Accessibility
Last updated: 20 October 2026
This site should work for as many people as possible. You should be able to:
- zoom to 200% without the page breaking
- move around the whole site, including the enquiry form, with a keyboard alone
- use it with a screen reader
- read every page with good contrast between text and background
- watch videos with captions
It's built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What we know isn't right yet
- Videos are hosted by Vimeo and play in Vimeo's own player. Captions are switched on by default where we have uploaded them. Until every video has its captions uploaded, some will play without them. If you need a transcript of a video, email us and we'll send one.
- The headline wordmark ("Joel Stone"), the cut-through lettering and the scroll animations are drawn with type and motion. People who ask their device for reduced motion get a still version, but we haven't yet tested the site with every screen reader and browser combination.
- The case study section moves sideways as you scroll on larger screens. On phones, with reduced motion, and without JavaScript it appears as a plain list.
Need something in a different format?
If you can't use part of the site, or you'd like something in another format, email hello@codebreak.co.uk. Tell us what you need and the page it's on, and we'll reply within two working days.
How we checked
We tested the site on 20 October 2026. The checks were:
- automated testing of every page with axe-core, at phone and desktop widths, which found no issues on the main pages (the policy pages had two minor issues, now fixed)
- Google Lighthouse accessibility audits, which scored 100 on the main pages
- keyboard-only checks of the navigation, the enquiry form, the cookie banner and the video player
- checks at a 320 pixel width and at 200% zoom, to make sure content reflows without sideways scrolling
- checks of text and background contrast
We have not yet had the site tested by people who use screen readers every day. We plan to, and we'll update this page when we have.
If you find a problem we missed, please tell us at hello@codebreak.co.uk.
